Program: Careers in Retail

When Aurora joined the Careers in Retail program in early 2016, she worked as 3rd Key in the East Brunswick, NJ Store, where she had worked since 2010. Aurora had a quiet personality in class and mentioned how fearful she was to drive on her own through busy highways to the training at Harrison, NJ. But she pushed herself to make the weekly trip.

Aurora was not looking forward to presenting to her peers in class as the course required. But she prepared herself and made an excellent speech. Her self-confidence improved significantly through the course. She even made eloquent comments at the graduation ceremony on April 2016! In less than six months, Aurora was promoted to Assistant Manager of the newly opened Bound Brook, NJ Store and received a 60% salary increase.
