Danielle Scaturro was working as program director at a family foundation when she was laid off in Oct. 2019. She had worked there in various positions for 15 years.
Danielle, a Brooklyn resident with disabilities in her 40s, joined GoodTemps in Jan. 2023. She had struggled to get a job for more than three years. The GoodTemps team connected her to temp assignments to help her explore new careers. First, she worked as executive assistant at NYC’s Office of Management and Budget earning$21.95/hr. Then she worked as administrative assistant at NYC’s Administration for Children Services earning $24.69/hr. Impressed with her work ethics, the City agency hired her permanently as Eligibility Case Processor earning $48,170/year in Oct. 2023.
“Before joining GoodTemps, I felt nervous in interviews and never shared about my disability. Being part of GoodTemps’ affirmative action program gave me the confidence I needed to perform well and freely discuss possible job accommodations,” said Danielle Scaturro. “GoodTemps assignments met my health needs, helped me build my resume after an unemployment gap, and ultimately led to permanent employment.”
