On June 23th, Goodwill NYNJ held a screening to premier 2ND LIFE, a 7-minute film that offers a glimpse into the experience of an immigrant who moves with his family to America family in search of the American Dream. Trained as a medical doctor in his native country, Madou found many challenges trying to transfer his skills as a doctor, nonetheless he persevered and turned to Goodwill to help him build a better life for himself and his family. 2ND LIFE is not just the story of Madou, but of so many of the men and women who turn to Goodwill for a 2nd chance at the American Dream.
2ND LIFE is being considered for an Academy Award nomination (Oscar) in the Best Live Action Comedy Shorts category from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, after winning Best Short at the Cleveland International Film Festival in 2015. Produced by Goodwill NYNJ, 2ND LIFE is now available for wide distribution.
