Program: Careers in Retail

Frank discussed in class the many challenges he faced in his life before joining Goodwill NYNJ. When he began the Careers in Retail training, he worked as 3rd Key in the Nanuet, NY Store. Frank was a natural leader at work: He enjoyed interacting with customers and encouraging his co-workers to do their best.

Frank showed self-motivation: He was always early for class, had perfect attendance, and was a motivating influence for his peers. As soon as he completed training on April 2016, he was promoted to Assistant Manager at the Fairfield, NJ Store and then transferred to the Springfield, NJ Store. His leadership skills paid off – his salary increased 50% and in the job he considers the best for him!
