GOODWILL NYNJ NAMES DOLORES SWIRIN-YAO
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, MISSION SERVICES
New York, NY – Goodwill® Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey, Inc., is pleased to announce that Dolores Swirin-Yao has joined as Executive Vice President, Mission Services, effective September 18, 2017. Ms. Swirin-Yao was previously President and CEO of Bideawee, Inc. and has over 30 years of non-profit management experience specializing in starting up, turning around and taking organizations to the next level. At this position, she will oversee all human services programs of the Astoria-based social enterprise.

For more than three decades, Ms. Swirin-Yao has held top executive positions with a strong track record of fundraising results and initiating comprehensive, measurable programmatic initiatives. At Bideawee, the 114-year-old animal rescue charity, she oversaw a $10 million budget, a staff of 90, three properties in Manhattan and Long Island, and two veterinary hospitals. Previously, she was Executive Director of the York College Foundation and Vice President for Institutional Advancement at York College of the City University of New York, an 8000-student public college in Jamaica, Queens. She was Chief Executive Officer for Girl Scout Council of Greater New York, with 22,000 girl members and 7,400 adult volunteers. As Executive Director for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society New York City Chapter, she was responsible for patient services, advocacy and fundraising programs in the five boroughs of New York City. Earlier, Ms. Swirin-Yao served as Chief Development Officer at the American Red Cross in Greater New York.
Ms. Swirin-Yao is a Columbia University alumna. She received an M.A. in French Literature from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and a B.A. in French, Cum Laude, from the School of General Studies. She has taught graduate courses in nonprofit management as an adjunct lecturer at the Baruch College School of Public Affairs /CUNY.
