NYC, NY – Nowadays, fashion-conscious shoppers have plenty of ways to find good deals on designer clothing. But a local nonprofit, Goodwill NYNJ offers top-notch and designer fashion at bargain prices while helping enhance the lives of community residents.
Hardwood floors, original displays, and trendy designs? This is not Macklemore’s nor your grandparents’ thrift store!
Just in time to help fashionistas get ready for Fashion Week,Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. will open its fourth boutique in Manhattan, NY at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 17. Goodwill NYNJ will inaugurate the Union Square boutique with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with elected officials at 10 a.m.
On opening day, a DJ will mix and spin the best music for a NY Fashion Week Goodwill-style celebration.
The 4,800 sq. ft. store is located at 7 W. 14th Street, Manhattan, NY, 10011. It will be open to the public Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Thursday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. This location brings nineteen jobs to the community and provides training and work for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
William J. Forrester, Goodwill’s President and CEO says: “The opening of a new store is always a cause for celebration for us. All our retail locations not only offer quality clothing and household goods at bargain prices to families, but serve as donation centers where residents can donate the new and used clothing, home goods, and electronics they no longer need.”
Donations to Goodwill keep more than 112 million pounds of unwanted goods out of landfills each year. Because Goodwill Industries is a non-for-profit organization, donated goods in good condition are tax-deductible, and receipts are available upon request
