John

John C. joined the Make-Your-Job program in August 2016. By utilizing the skills he’s learned in using the Laser Cutter in the Makerspace, John has created personalized signs and has made money from his creations. He hopes to have his own sign making business and wants to someday teach others what he has learned.

Daniel

Daniel K. joined the Make-Your-Job program in October 2016. Daniel enjoys thinking out of the box and creating complex designs with the Laser Cutter. For the Hudson County Community College Holiday Marketplace, Daniel created three-dimensional acrylic snowman ornaments from a design he created. Along with the Laser Cutter, Daniel has also learned 3D modeling and turned those creations into 3D Printed objects. Daniel likes bringing his designs to life and has been able to do so with the classes and machines at the Goodwill NYNJ Makerspace.

Frantz

Frantz J. joined the Make-Your-Job program in October 2016. Frantz, a Veteran, enjoys cutting out personalized keychains and necklaces out of acrylic with the Laser Cutter. To date, Frantz has sold many products that he made in the Goodwill Makerspace. He first joined the program because of his desire to bring his inventions to life. He still works on them and can’t wait to sell those as well.

Demetrius

Demetrius joined the Make-Your-Job program in August 2016. Demetrius enjoys creating signs with his favorite wrestlers incorporated into the designs. He hopes to one day have a business where he can sell his signs to other wrestling enthusiasts like himself. Using the Makerspace, Demetrius has sold creations he has cut with a laser cutter at a Hudson County Community College Holiday Marketplace.

Pria

Pria joined the Make-Your-Job program in August 2016. Pria enjoys bringing her art to life in her creations in the Makerspace. She hopes to one day have her own art studio where she can sell her works to a larger audience. Pria used the knowledge she gained from the Makerspace to sell ornaments at Hudson County Community College. There, she gained sales experience engaging customers and talking to them about how she made them. 

Gabriel

Gabriel joined the Make-Your-Job program in January 2017. Gabriel is new to the program but is enthusiastic to learn all he can in the Makerspace. He has already come up with creative designs for new ways to make candy dishes and ice-skate guards. He hopes to bring his inventive ideas to life with the skills he learns in the Makerspace.

Shivonne

Shivonne joined the Make-Your-Job program in January 2017. Shivonne is new to the program but her willingness to learn new technology is what drove her to join the class. She has started to learn how to create things with the laser cutter and enjoys working with new machines.
