Round Up to Give Back

This holiday season please join Goodwill NYNJ in supporting individuals with disabilities by rounding up your next purchase to the nearest dollar. After you Round Up, post about it using #ActofGoodwill on social media, to spread the word.

Every cent you round up at our Goodwill stores will help people with disabilities and other barriers to employment gain jobs and a sense of independence in their lives. Please join us in finishing out 2017 strong by rounding up and giving back during your next trip to Goodwill!

All your donations from November 1 through December 31 will go to fund our programs that help people with disabilities and other barriers to employment throughout our territory in Eastern New York and Northern New Jersey.

You can also make a cash donation of any amount, just by letting your cashier know. Be sure to remember your receipt – all donations (including financial ones) are tax deductible. The receipt you receive at the cash register will serve as your donation receipt.

Past Campaigns

This May through June, Goodwill NYNJ is helping to raise awareness for mental health! Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans is affected by mental illness? Well, when we know better, we do better, and every cent donated helps us operate programs that empower individuals with mental illness. When you “Round Up” your purchases to the nearest whole dollar you are a part of national efforts to support Mental Health Awareness!
 Thank you!

This February – March 2017 GoodwillNYNJ took a stand to protect our environment! As a social enterprise, we diverted 128 million pounds of usable goods out of landfills in 2016 and we are working to keep millions more out of landfills in 2017. On Earth Day, 4/22, we gave away reusable totes to match your love for sustainable fashion. All customers who chose to “Round Up” their purchases to the nearest whole dollar after spending a minimum of $25 were able to snag a free limited edition sustainable shopping tote.

On Oct 19th, GoodwillNYNJ enjoyed A Night of Fashion Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month with our annual fashion show. Designer, Heron Preston generously donated his time to help style our models in Fall-themed casual wear at our 25th Street store location. Big Congratulations and a round of applause to all of our models and participants!

This September, our Round Up Your Cents Program helped us donate hundreds of backpacks full of supplies to local community schools. Customers filled out our survey to nominate a local school, and we were able to help students in:
