Team Goodwill NYNJ will participate in the 2017 TCS NYC Marathon!

On Sunday, November 5, our dedicated team of five runners will brave the chilly morning air in Staten Island, ready for an invigorating 26.2 mile race through all five boroughs.

This year, Team Goodwill NYNJ runners will be raising money and awareness to empower individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. All funds raised by our team members will support Goodwill NYNJ, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and our programs that empower individuals with disabilities, veterans, seniors, at-risk youth, immigrants and refugees, unemployed and underemployed individuals, and thousands of others who may experience barriers to employment and gaining independence.

A social enterprise model, Goodwill NYNJ is also committed to sustainable business practices and protecting our environment. In 2016, Goodwill NYNJ helped residents divert 128 million pounds of usable goods out of landfills. Since 2010, Goodwill NYNJ has partnered with the New York Road Runners to station volunteers along the marathon route, to pick up nearly 200,000 pounds of donated clothing shed by runners each year.
