Goodwill NYNJ President & CEO selected to City & State’s Nonprofit Power 100 list

Katy Gaul-Stigge, President & CEO of Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc. (Goodwill NYNJ) was recognized as one of the 100 most influential people in the New York nonprofit community on Nov. 11, 2019. City & State, a well-known media outlet that reports on New York’s politics and policy, selected the 100 leaders for its 2019 Nonprofit Power 100 list. The publication formally recognized the 100 honorees at a reception in downtown Manhattan on Nov. 13 and featured them in their special commemorative magazine.

The Nonprofit Power 100 list honors the 100 most influential leaders working in nonprofit organizations who have spearheaded major accomplishments and have made a difference for the most vulnerable New Yorkers. One year after joining Goodwill NYNJ, Gaul-Stigge launched in May 2017 Vision 2020,  a 3-year strategic plan, which in 2018 led Goodwill NYNJ to provide coaching, placement, and retention services for 30,000 people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. During the same period, the nonprofit help 2,351 people get jobs, including 843 individuals with disabilities, outside its stores at hospitals, tech firms, and NYC agencies.

“I am grateful and humbled to be listed among some of the most influential nonprofit figures in New York,” said Gaul-Stigge. “The City and State Nonprofit Power 100 is an impressive collection of leaders all working to make a better New York.”

“Congratulations to Katy for this well-deserved recognition on behalf of the Goodwill NYNJ Board of Directors and the entire staff,” said Henry J. Gooss, chair of the Board of Directors of Goodwill NYNJ.  “Katy works tirelessly to advance the vision of Goodwill NYNJ of creating a world with no barriers to employment and opportunities for all.”
